(1) Practical Assistance
When making a claim, our claims team will help you retrieve your medical reports when you provide your consent and where your attending physician allows the release of these reports to us.
In addition, we provide your family with an advancement of S$5,000 from the death benefit when the death certificate is provided, even before the claim has been processed. This is to support your family if they need help with funeral expenses.
(2) Emotional support
This benefit is provided under FWD Future First (the base plan).
We will reimburse counselling and life coaching services of up to S$5,000 in total to help your family get the emotional support they need.
(3) Professional services/ Home care support
FWD Future First (the base plan) provides the professional services benefit whereas FWD TPD Rider, FWD Critical Illness Rider and FWD Total CI Rider provide the home care support benefit.
Our Professional services/ Home care support benefit includes reimbursement for Legal services (under the base plan) and Home care support (under the riders).
Legal services can help your family with the legal support needed to obtain the grant of probate in the event of death.
If you add-on the FWD TPD Rider, the FWD Critical Illness Rider and/or the FWD Total CI Rider to your base plan, the Home care support benefit allows you to utilise up to S$5,000 from the Professional services benefit under your base plan for the purpose of home nursing or home modification services. The maximum payout across the Home care support benefit under these riders and the Professional services benefit under your base plan shall not exceed S$5,000 in total.
(4) Medical second opinion support
This benefit is provided under the FWD Critical Illness Rider and the FWD Total CI Rider.
If you add on the FWD Critical Illness Rider or the FWD Total CI Rider to your base plan, we will provide you access to this benefit if you have been diagnosed or is suffering from one of the covered critical illness conditions.
Through our service provider, MediGuide, the medical second opinion service will provide you the ability to have your diagnosis or treatment plan evaluated by some of the world-leading medical centres. MediGuide will recommend three medical institutions to choose from to review your diagnosis or treatment plan.
This service is provided with no out-of-pocket costs or travel requirements.
Please note that FWD may, at its sole discretion, change the service provider for the provision of the medical second opinion service without prior notice.
