We will organise this service through an external service provider, MediGuide International, LLC, from Delaware USA.
The Medical second opinions are provided in writing – complete with background information on the advising doctors and medical centres.
We will pay for the services through our panel of service providers. As long as your rider cover is in place, there is no limit on how many times you can access this service.
Simply call the MediGuide hotline toll free number 800-101-1888 to initiate the service. MediGuide will ask for your consent, obtain your relevant medical records and identify three medical centres for you to choose from. You will select one of the three medical centres and receive a written report within 10 business days.
In most cases, the critical illness conditions covered under this rider may be reviewed under the programme, with the exception of these circumstances:
- absence of a diagnosis by a qualified physician;
- absence of an evaluation by a treating physician for more than one year; and
- condition is acute or life-threatening (requires immediate medical attention).
Please note that FWD may, at its sole discretion, change the service provider for the provision of the Medical second opinion service without prior notice.
