The policy owner can appoint or revoke a secondary person insured any time during the policy term to ensure policy continuity upon death of the insured.
The appointment for secondary person insured can be made provided that no nomination of beneficiary has been made for this policy and there is no change to ownership of the policy including assignment, and a trust had not been set-up.
i.e. If a beneficiary has been nominated, there cannot be an appointment of a secondary person insured. Similarly, if a secondary person insured has been appointed, there cannot be a nomination of beneficiary.
