There are 4 main benefits under FWD Early CI Protection Rider.
Critical Illness Benefit: This is a whole life coverage for early, intermediate and late-stage critical illness conditions. It is an accelerating benefit.
Special and Juvenile Benefit: This is an additional benefit that covers special and mental conditions before the person insured turns age 85, and juvenile conditions before the person insured turns age 18.
Intensive Care Unit Benefit: Pays out if the person insured is admitted into ICU for an illness or accident, for a minimum of 4 consecutive days. This is an additional benefit that provides coverage until age 85.
Pre-Early Cancer Benefit (Up to age 85): Pays out if the person insured is diagnosed with a benign tumour and subsequently undergoes surgical excision of a benign tumour, or is diagnosed with a borderline malignant tumour. This is an additional benefit that provides coverage until age 85.
An "accelerating benefit" accelerates the Death Benefit of the base plan that this rider is attached to. This means that the Death Benefit will be reduced by the accelerating benefit amount paid out.
Any payment of an "additional benefit" will not reduce the rider sum insured.
