If you are making a claim for damage to your building/renovations/home contents, theft and/or any related benefits, please notify us by calling our FWD Emergency Assistance hotline at +65 6322 2072 and we will guide you through the claims process. We may appoint our loss adjuster to inspect your damaged property for assessment.
We will cover you for the following insured events:
- Fire, smoke, lightning or explosion;
- being hit by a third-party object;
- theft or attempted theft accompanied by forcible entry;
- bursting or overflowing of domestic water tanks or pipes in your home;
- any natural disasters; and
- riot, strike, or malicious act by others.

The following are examples of what you can claim for, as stated in the policy wordings (click here for policy wording for homeowners, click here for policy wording for tenants).
Building / Renovations
You can claim for damage to the Building / Renovations caused by any of the Insured Events. We will reimburse you the cost of repairing or replacing the part of the Building / Renovations that is damaged, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.
Home Contents
You can claim for damage to or theft of the Home Contents caused by any of the insured events. We will reimburse you the cost of repairing or replacing those home contents, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.
Incidental Expenses
You can claim for Incidental Expenses if a claim for damage to the home contents is payable under the Policy. We will reimburse you the reasonable and necessary expenses incurred to minimize claims under this Policy or as a result of loss of use of your home, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.
Temporary Accommodation and Storage
You can claim for Temporary Accommodation and Storage if a claim for damage to the building, renovations or home contents is payable under the Policy. We will reimburse you the reasonable and necessary expenses incurred to minimize claims under this Policy or as a result of loss of use of your home, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.
Theft or Damage to Contents Temporarily Removed
You can claim for Theft or Damage to Contents Temporarily Removed if your home contents are stolen or damaged while they are temporarily removed from your home and store within a residential building. We will reimburse you the cost of repairing or replacing the stolen or damaged home contents, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.

Accidental damage of fixed mirrors and glasses
You can claim for Accidental Damage to Fixed Mirrors and Glasses in your home if there is accidental damage to it. We will reimburse you the cost of repair or replacement, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.
To make a claim for Accidental damages of fixed mirrors and glasses, please provide the following documents:
- Colored photographs of the damaged fixed mirrors or glasses
- Original invoice(s) of the purchase of the mirrors or glasses
- Quotation for the replacement of the damaged fixed mirrors or glasses
- Tax invoice after the replacement of the damaged fixed mirrors or glasses
Rent protector (applicable to Landlord only)
You can claim for the loss of rent, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits if You have declared Yourself as a landlord while buying this Policy if any of the following happened:
• If Your Home is undergoing repair due to damage caused by an Insured Event as a result of which Your tenant does not live in Your Home;
• If during the Period of Insurance, the tenant does not pay the rent due under the Tenancy Agreement; or
• If Your Home remains untenanted following an occurrence of murder or suicide that happened at Your Home while it was rented out.
To make a claim for Rent protector, please provide the following documents:
- Tenancy agreement
- Proof of default rental payment (eg. record of bank statement)
- Written notice to tenant requesting for rental payment
- Notice to end tenancy early due to non-payment of rent
- Police report (if applicable)
Legal costs
If you decide to take legal actions against your tenant or landlord for breach of Tenancy Agreement, you can claim for Legal Costs, subject to our pre-approval, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.
To make a claim for Legal costs, please provide the following documents:
- Tenancy agreement
- Representation letter from lawyer
- Writ of Distress
Worldwide personal liability (applicable to Homeowner and Landlord only)
You can claim for Worldwide Personal Liability subject to our pre-approval and up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits, if you or your household members are legally responsible for the accidental death of or bodily injury to a third party and/or loss or damage to a third party’s property.
To make a claim for Worldwide personal liability, please provide the following documents:
- Police report at the country of incident
- Correspondence from the third party (including Letter of Demand and Court)
- Flight itinerary / trip invoices (applicable for incident happened in overseas)
Tenant’s liability
You can claim under Tenant’s Liability, subject to our pre-approval and up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits, if you or your household members are legally responsible as a tenant for the loss or damage to your landlord’s building, renovations and contents.
To make a claim for Tenant's liability, please provide the following documents:
- Police report
- Correspondence from the landlord (including Letter of Demand and Court)
Optional Benefits
Pet dog and cat cover
You can claim under Pet Dog and Cat Cover if the following arises:
– your pet dog or cat is stolen from your home or dies due to an insured event;
– medical expenses incurred as a result of any injury suffered by your pet dog or cat due to an insured event;
– accommodation expenses incurred if you have to put your pet dog or cat in a pet hotel because your home is damaged by any of the insured events, we will pay you up to the amount stated in the Table of Benefits.
To make a claim for Pet dog and cat cover, please provide the following documents:
- Invoice for the purchase of your pet dog / cat (applicable only to stolen or death)
- Pet’s death cremation certificate
- Pet’s licence
- Police report (if applicable)
- Original medical tax invoices
- Original accommodation invoice
Personal Accident
Medical Expenses to cover for injury
You or your household members can claim for Medical Expenses incurred due to an insured event up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.
To make a claim for Medical expenses to cover for injury, please provide the following documents:
- Original medical bill(s)
- Medical report or inpatient discharge summary (if applicable)
Home modifications
Should you or your household members become permanently disabled because of any of the insured events, we will reimburse you the reasonable cost incurred on home modifications as prescribed by the medical practitioner, up to the limit stated in the Table of Benefits.
To make a claim for Home modifications, please provide the following documents:
- Quotation for home modifications*
- Medical report
- Doctor’s memo
*We must first approve any home modifications before they can be made.
