Personal accident & accidental death
If your maid or helper suffers from an accident resulting in her death, we’ll pay the Personal Accident benefit stated in the Personal Accident Severity Table and the policy summary to her legal representatives.
To make a claim for Personal accident death, please provide the following documents:
- Deceased’s work permit
- Deceased’s legal representative’s passport
- Document to establish relationship with the Deceased
- Letter of Administration / Probate
- Death certificate
- Deceased’s Attending Doctor’s Statement
- Detailed post mortem report
- Police investigation report
- Burial certificate or cremation documentation (if death and burial is outside Singapore)
Total And Permanent Disability
If your maid or helper suffers from an accident and causes her to suffer a permanent disability, we’ll pay the Personal Accident benefit stated in the Personal Accident Severity Table and the policy summary to your maid or helper.
To make a claim for Total and permanent disability, please provide the following documents:
- Police investigation report
- Medical report
Repatriation Expenses
If your maid or helper suffers from death, a permanent disability or a serious illness or injury and needs to be sent home, we’ll pay you the transport expenses incurred by you to send her home.
To make a claim for Repatriation expenses, please provide the following documents:
- Medical report (for permanent disability, serious illness or injury)
- Receipts for expenses incurred relating to repatriation of mortal remains
Funeral Grant
If your maid or helper passes away, we will pay the funeral grant expenses, up to the limit of benefit stated in the policy summary, to her legal representative.
To make a claim for Funeral grant, please provide the following documents:
- Deceased’s work permit
- Deceased’s legal representative’s passport
- Document to establish relationship with the Deceased
- Death certificate
Medical Expenses
Outpatient Medical Expenses Due to Accident
Your helper can get cashless medical treatments if she visits any of our panel clinics in Singapore using the FWD SG App up to the limit of benefit stated in the insurance summary.
This benefit also includes expenses incurred overseas only when your helper is travelling with you or your family. However, overseas medical expenses incurred will be on a reimbursement basis.
Simply download our FWD SG App and log in using the userID and password of your online services account.
Please note that your helper can download the Make Health Connect (MHC) app to access her medical e-Card, if she is visiting the clinic on her own. Alternatively, you may still use the FWD SG to access her medical e-Card if you are accompanying her.
To make a claim for Medical reimbursement, please provide the following documents:
- Medical bill(s)
- Medical report
- Flight itinerary (only for overseas outpatient claims)
Hospitalization And Surgical Expenses
If your maid or helper is hospitalized as a result of an accident or illness sustained in Singapore, we will reimburse the Hospital and Surgical Expenses medically necessary, up to the limit of benefit stated in the policy summary, to you. Hospital and Surgical Expenses incurred overseas for emergency hospitalization will be covered by the policy only if your maid or helper is travelling along with you or your family.
We will also reimburse you for your maid or helper’s wages and levy for the period she is in hospital (including hospitalization leave granted by a medical practitioner) and the expenses incurred during the hospitalization period of your maid or helper for hiring of temporary domestic helper up to the limit of benefit stated in the summary.
To make a claim for Hospitalization and surgical expenses, please provide the following documents:
- Medical bill(s)
- Medical report or inpatient discharge summary
- Flight itinerary (only for overseas inpatient summary)
- Levy statement (month prior to hospitalization)
- Employment contract / monthly salary record

Other Benefits
Ambulance Fees
If your maid or helper is transported to a hospital as a result of an accident, we will reimburse the ambulance charges (if any), up to the limit of benefit stated in the policy summary, to you.
To make a claim for Ambulance fees, please provide the following documents:
- Ambulance fee receipt
Re-Hiring Expenses
If your maid or helper suffers a permanent disability, serious illness or injury which prevents her from carrying out her employment duties, we will reimburse the Employment Agency fees subjected to our pre-approval when you re-hire a replacement maid up to the limit of benefit stated in the policy summary, to you.
To make a claim for Re-hiring expenses, please provide the following documents:
- Medical report
- Employment Agency re-hiring fee receipt*
* We must first approve the expenses.
Liability to Third Parties
If your maid or helper is legally responsible for accidentally injuring someone or causing loss to someone else’s property, we’ll pay up to the limit of benefit stated in the policy summary, to you.
To make a claim for Liability to third parties, please provide the following documents:
- Police and / or incident report (if any)
- Correspondence from the third party (including Letter of Demand and Court)
Damage or Theft of Maid’s Personal Belongings
If your maid or helper suffers damage or loss to her personal belongings as a result of fire, flood, water or burglary in your home, we will pay up to the limit of benefit stated in the policy summary, to your maid or helper.
To make a claim for Damage or Theft of maid's personal belongings, please provide the following documents:
- Photographs of damaged item(s)
- Invoice of damaged / loss item(s)
- Police report (only applicable for burglary)
Optional Benefits / Independent Add-on
Daily Hospital Allowance
If your maid or helper is confined to a hospital in Singapore for at least 3 days as a result of an accident or illness, we will pay a daily hospital allowance as stated in the policy summary, to your maid or helper.
To make a claim for Daily Hospital Allowance, please provide the following documents:
- Medical report or inpatient discharge summary
- Employment contract / monthly salary record
Outpatient Medical Expenses
Should you’ve opted for this we’ll cover your maid for outpatient medical expenses if your maid or helper suffers from an illness.
We’ll cover your helper’s outpatient medical treatment, up to S$30 per visit. You’ll need to pay the first S$10 as and any balance that remains after deducting the next S$30.
For example:
The medical bill comes up to S$60.

If you have bought the outpatient medical expenses benefit under our maid insurance add-ons, please note the benefit will only be effective 30 days from your policy start date.
